It was fun creating a background with distress markers--

I attempted to try to create a background that would look a bit like specialty paper and also embossed areas to add some dimension.

How could I pass up this wonderful bookmark die from Penny Black? 

I stamped the background with Altenew inks and Melt Art Treads. 

The leaf was made from a "reject" project and cut with a die.

Texture

I have had these feathers for ages but never managed to use them...then thought they would add interesting texture, especially with the little dew drop on top.

I think all the Altenew Stamps are wonderful but especially love these layer stamps. They always give impressive results, don't you think?  And you can use a variety of different kinds of inks-archival, distress, dye etc.

August BLUE

When I think of  a summer Sunday color, I think of blue. 

So this is my card for Sognando Scrap August DT
 contribution.  I really liked doing the resist batik 
technique using embossing powders and then 
added some masking to stamp in the resist images.

I was experimenting with ways of sealing the Distress Inks (before Tim explained how to do it).
Found the result somewhat interesting .... mixed one of the tags with the Day 10 tag for the this final result

AN EXPERIMENT

 

I confirm that if you spray 

Distress Ink with glossy paint,

the distress will indeed run. :/

was just checking....and experimenting. Actually the effect

altho blurred was pretty cool on the speciality stamping paper. I just need to figure out a way to have the image blur a bit less. Maybe lightly spraying, drying and then spraying again. If it works out, it would be worth the effort because I really liked the gloss.

The watercolor effect is what I like besst.
